Jeanie Brandes | Biography
Originally hailing from Houston, Texas, Jeanie Brandes has been spending the last several years entertaining primarily in New York and Los Angeles, maintaining a hectic schedule of recording and concert dates. Currently based in Los Angeles, Brandes is hard at work, writing, producing, performing and coaching.
As a vocalist, she has performed all over the globe. Some notable engagements at established jazz and cabaret venues include: (New York) Mama Rose’s, Don’t Tell Mama’s, Danny’s Skylight Room, Judy’s, Hotel Del Monaco, Triad; (Los Angeles) The Cinegrill / Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, The Gardenia, Lunaria Jazz Club; (San Francisco) The Empire Plush Room; (Houston) Rockerfeller’s Jazz Club, Ovations Jazz Club; (New Hope, PA) Odette’s; (Aruba) Hotel Caribbean; (Mexico & Caribbean) Princess Cruise Lines; (Nassau) Paradise Island; (Curacao) Hilton Hotel; just to name a few. |
Constantly sought after for her live performances, Jeanie has sung the National Anthem for many professional teams, including: The Houston Oilers, The Texans, The Rockets, The Astros, The Cleveland Indians, The Los Angeles Lakers, The L.A. Galaxy and she has proven to be a good luck charm for the Houston teams.
Jeanie has worked extensively in the field of voiceover, having appeared in over one hundred national spots. She has also done on-camera appearances as well as completed numerous theatre, television and film roles. She appeared in “Akhnaten” for Houston Grand Opera and lists favorite stage roles as Guinevere in “Camelot” and Lizzie in “110 In the Shade.”
On television she has been a guest on such prestigious programs as “CBS: The Morning Show” and “PBS: Late Night Edition” as well as written, produced and hosted her own syndicated television show “Women’s World with Jeanie Brandes.” Over the course of time, she interviewed a wide range of guests including entertainment industry legends: Arthur Miller, Walter Cronkite, Henry Mancini, Leonard Bernstein, Philip Glass,
Beverly Sills, Beatrice Arthur, Geena Davis, Alec Baldwin, Farrah Fawcett and Jaclyn Smith.

In addition, Jeanie has found time to write a book of poetry, “Love In the World I Remember,” which has been extremely well-received, now in its third printing, making it a top-seller in the poetry book market.
Jeanie is an active member in SAG, AFTRA and ASCAP. She has studied voice with the iconic Seth Riggs (Los Angeles) and Michael Lawrence (Houston). She has even studied the art of writing comedy with Danny Simon (Neil Simon’s mentor). She has gone on and written episodic television including scripts for “Murphy Brown” and “Empty Nest.” Jeanie holds a B.A. from Indiana University in the field of Theatre & Voice.
